Default Transmission fear/concern

hello,

Wondering if my 2002 jaguar will need a new tranny at 125k miles? It seems to have no problems going thru gears and preforms flawlessly even during a cold start. I’ve only owned the car for about 4 months and have no clue if the tranny has been replaced or not. Would a jag at this high of mileage already have this replaced? I plan to change out the fluid soon

You will have a ZF5HP24 transmission used in BMW 6 or 700 series models

There is a concern of the pilot pressure regulator on the 5 speed modal

Know as the Transgo mod

thank you for the quick and helpful response parker

would this be inside the transmission itself? I am not familiar with transmission work. Are there any videos or pdf on how to repair? any resources would be greatly appreciated!

Yes there are threads on this mod that can be done without the transmission removal and a $ 60 kit

Something to look into as a long term investment for when the original pressure regulator and the issue is the port it slides into on the valve body goes bad will eat your transmission
