Default transmission fluid.

Been seeing alot of post about checking the transmission fluid level (i.e when there is a problem or routine.).

I was under the impression these things was sealed and didnt come with a dipstick. Did I miss something? How is the transmission fluid level checked? In a sensible manner. (i.e without having to take the dang thing off the car or jury-rigging some tool that can potentially cause problems or draining the oil and measuring it and relizing there is no way to put oil back in it.).

a basic test is to run the car up to temp and then place on a level ramp, undo the drain/fill port and see if it dribbles out, if it does it's up to level, if it doesn't it needs topping off.

how do you get the fluid into it, say that it does need topping off?

Buy a hand operated fluid transfer pump at an auto parts store and use it. That's what I've used on similar applications.

The fill/check plug is down there on the right side of the tranny. It's a little tricky because it's very near an exhaust pipe - meaning, you can lose some skin if you're not careful.
