Transmission Problem

I have a 1998 XJ8 with 72,500 miles. It has picked up what feels like a transmission "slippage" around 45 MPH in normal mode and about 50MPH in sport mode. It feels like it can't figure out what gear to find, and jerks as it runs. This only happens at this spead, the rest of the shifting works smoothly and as expected.

I have read in other forums there may be a common problem with the Tranny. Any thoughts, or recommendations.

Hi , new to this forum , this is my 5th jag , love these cars but I just bought a tranny out of totaled car , has 60k on it , can anyone tell me if the car will know that I have replaced the tranny with one that's working correctly after the replace ?? Thanks do much
