Default Transmission Service 1999 XJR

Hi All!
Could someone please explain the procedure for servicing my transmission. At this time she's performing ok tho on occasion she momentarily hangs on to a low gear when cold.
Will this service prevent some the horror stories I've read? I have around 120k miles on my clock.
Thanks!

The usual service just involves draining the fluid, dropping the oil pan and replacing the filter inside there. You can't drain all the fluid without specialist equipment as around half of it stays inside the torque converter, most people seem happy with the half replacement, my specialist said if the fluid was bad they'd recommended doing the job twice to replace more of the old fluid.
It's no panacea to all gearbox problems, but will certainly help prolong it's life, unless it already has a fault, new fluid ain't gonna fix that.
