Default Transsmision slip during cold weather???

Hi guys..my tranny in my 1999 XJR slipped a bit while engaging into reverse ...and then again into drive the other morning while leaving my garage for work.....it is winter here now and was colder than usual that day...

The "transmission fault" light came on...I stopped shut it down ..then turned the motor back and it went away..

I only warmed up for about a minute before leaving garage.....figure need more warm up time as it has not done since that day...but colder days are comming ahead..so my question is has this happened to you?

should I be worried?

wonder if my tranny is on the down hill for a repair...these trannies are known to give up the ghost at times...

so far she shifts very nice ....just wondering what you guys think or have experienced....

I figure tranny internals might have just slipped a bit under freezing temperatures....

thanks for any info...

ITS CONSIDERED NORMAL FOR TRANS TO HAVE UP TO, AND 5 SEC ENGAGEMENT WHEN COLD/HOT, BUT IS USUALLY MORE PRONOUNCED WHEN COLD
