Default True Top Speed

Does anyone know of the true non-limited top speed of the naturally aspirated XJ X308s? I know the XJR is limited to 155mph/250kph, but will do about 280kph without the limiter. What about the regular XJ8/VDP? My guess would be about 240-250kph.
Thanks a lot!

How does one get past the ECM controlled limiter?

When you upgrade the software or install a performance chip, they usually override the speed limiter, as well as increase power, etc.

Thanks. I assume there are aftermarket companies that will re-flash the ECM to do this? (not really interested in doing it, just curious).

Had my 99 up to 140 racing a rice burner on 294 north of Chicago, had the same car at 145 on interstate 57 racing some punk in ANOTHER rice burner. Had my 02 at 145-148 on 400 outside of Atlanta. Needless to say I passed the rice burners up.
Brings back my old street racing days, sure is nice knowing you can handle these young punks!!!LOL.

Wow...very dangerous at those speeds and honestly irresponsible. Save the racing for the track
