Default "V8" badge between the windows has to go!

I really don't care for the "V8" badge located on the pillar between the front and rear windows. (My daughter likes it; she thinks it is a reference to V8 Fusion drink.) Is the badge held on by adhesive? If I remove it will there be a shadow of the emblem remaining? Has anyone replaced it with something else, like a "R" or the Jag emblem from the hood? (Does the hood emblem have a name like the Leaper? Something like "Screamer" would be appropriate )

I believe if you remove them you will find two small guide holes remaining on the pillar. I don't like mine either, they seem rather cheap.

I believe the grill badge is called a Growler.

Default I agree

I don't like that V8 emblem either.

A growler would look a lot better.

I'm proud to my V8 engine, in this 3-4 "cylindered" world.

Oh, I am proud of my V8 engine too!

It's just the ugly emblem on the B Pillar that I don't like.

Looks like the Yugo factory made these cheap plastic badges.

Jaguar got cheap on this part, and the ash tray, and the cup holder, and a few other plastic bits.

The V8 emblems on these cars do not match the beauty and overall quality of these cars IMHO.

My V8 badges will definitely be going at some point. Can you post a pic of what the B-Pillars look like without the emblem? Are there holes?

If I can find something else, I'd give you mine for free.

Default Eureka!

I have found replacements:

Nice enamel emblems.

5 cm x 3 cm.

The perfect size for the B Pillar and will cover any blemishes from the old V8 emblems.

Plus, they will match my nice new center caps:

Send me a PM if you want my V8 badges.

Agreed Stewart, the V8 badges seem kind of cheap to me too. I think I would prefer no badge, but that would leave 2 holes I believe, which wouldn't work. I'm leaning towards a growler badge.

By the way, enjoying your 'rebuild' write-up. Nicely done!

I bought mine here:

Jaguar Accessory Union Jack Wheel Cap for F Type T2R5513 | eBay

VERY good eBay seller.

I have bought 3 or 4 other items from him so far.

Sells them individually, but are the least expensive seller of these that I have found in the US.

They are factory Jaguar parts.

the 1995-1997 XJR has a badge there that says "XJR" instead of V8

they probably secure on the same way since there are very very few differences trim wise between the X300 and X308
