I like them so much I brought two new ones. Yes they locate into two small holes in the B pillar.
Sorry about that.

Fellows,

The Vanden Plas edition of the X300 has no badge on the B-pillar. It's Clean. I don't know if that's true of the X308 VDP, or if anyone would be inclined to replace the entire pillar cover to get the clean look. Agreed that this prominent detail does not age well.

My VDP has the badges and I think they are ok.

I ordered them.

They are coming from the UK so it takes a while.

When I get them, I'll post up some pics.

p.s. here is another auction of the same badges:

Default Received the emblems today

I like them a lot!

Here is the emblem and the old V8 emblem:

Here are the mounting holes that the V8 badge mounts into:

Here is the new metal & enamel Union Jack emblem installed:

These emblems are VERY reflective and fit in on the B Pillars very well.

IMHO these look much better than those cheap looking plastic V8 badges.

What adhesive did you use?

Looks great! I just painted most of the window chrome black, leaving the very outermost surround untainted. The new badges should look really nice against the black.

They came with adhesive tape already installed.

Can't wait to see pics of yours installed!

Maybe why I like the V8 is that my pillar is black. No chrome any where around the doors.so the little V8 seems to work whereas that on mine that emblem may or may not work but would really stand out.
Certainly looks better on your car than the V8.

Hi everyone,

I must agree, those V8 badges don't do anything for me either. I've gone for the earlier XJR badges from an X300 model for my 1998 XJR. They can be bought for £5.00 each from XJK Ltd (UK website) brand new (Jaguar want £17.69 plus VAT !!) Part No is HNA6092KA

I like those too! Wonder how they would look with the chrome, depending on color, I have liked the black surround. It seemed to be on all the other XJRs around the world except the USA.

Here is a picture of the Union Jack badge on blacked-out trim. I really like how they look.
