Found it by the brake pedal, when moving the mat. Might have taken it off during some recent motor work and set it there, but don't remember? Ideas?

I Googled the part number LJC6570AA. It's the top of the kickdown switch. It fits behind the gas pedal.

Thanks, I should of thought of that. Must have pop off when the rubber mat pushed up toward the fire wall. Nothing on it appears to be broken. Hope it pops on as easy as it popped off.

It should slide on and then do like a half turn twist to lock in place

Just a heads up I don't think the xj8 had a kickdown switch. I think it's more or less just a pedal stop for the accelerator and keep in mind where you place that pedal stop will affect your wide open throttle reading on the pedal position sensor. I know because I just had to adjust mine when I hooked up my scan tool I noticed that wide open throttle was only 84% so I had to remove that pedal adjust the pedal stop so that I could achieve 94% wide open throttle.
