What battery size is best for the X308?
Hey guys,
as it seems, my 3.2l has a dead battery. It will discharge really quickly. Not good. Alternator is new so it is charged well.
Now, I am not looking for recommended battery brands... I would like some ideas towards power and ratings...
I have read of 75Ah and 725A being the right ones. But are there more powerful ones available which will work well with the standard Denso alternator?
Cheers

The battery design #019, these days the oem is on the low side.
Battery tech has progressed in 20 years. My x2 are 100Ah and 850A with 4 year warranty. Bosch and Lucas batteries are made by Varta....cough....
I'd say a bad battery is worse on the alternator than a fresh one and can cause failure of the alt.
Also - considering the electrical demand these cars require a bigger capacity battery isn't a negative.

I was actually considering a 100Ah battery, especially since the alternator has a high output...
Before buying, you might want to run a quick amp-check by installing a multi meter in serie between the negative pole and the earth cable.
Lock the car, wait till all modules enter sleep-mode, and read the remaining amperage, which should be around 30mAmp.
Peace of mind after you had so many electrics disconnected during the engine out.
