Doug,

I could have responded as you did but to get paid for it too . . . what a fun job.

Wow, no one works for Jaguar or works at a independent Jaguar shop? Jaglovers.org (Jaguarforums is much better tho) has a member who was an engineer for the X300 XJR project. He has very interesting insight.

Anyone know of an engineer who was involved with the XJ8 development?

I'm not sure if I should be saying this but: When I was 10 (Way back in1996) My Dad's friend turned up at our house in a car covered in bits of tape & Such like. This turned out to be the XK8 at our house a couple of weeks before it was due to be released!!! It was space age stuff back then.
The same guy has since told me he was involved with Testing the X308 in the AZ Desert, and has had Jags in places you wouldn't expect to find them!!

I'm still the only Professional Driver listed here I see!!

Default Semi-Retired Electrical Contractor

Love my 2000XJ8. Had it for seven years. Never drive it in bad weather. As a sem-retired person I get to choose what jobs I want to do.

Thanks for the survey,

Ardisson

Marketing Director for a Semiconductor Equipment Supplier.

I design and market machines that are used to measure silicon wafers as they are manufactured. So thank me everytime you use something electronic !

(Obviously if you have something electronic that isn't working it's not my fault, I wasn't there, I never saw anything!)

SARC, do you know the guy who puts in the smoke to make the stuff work?

'Cause, you know, if the smoke gets out, the stuff no longer works.

Actually it's all smoke and mirrors :-)

Being from Scotland and having previously worked in a wafer fab there, we used to have a traditional "get out of jail" statement which was "We're makin things yae canne see! Yer gonnae get a few that dinnae work!"
