This is, perhaps, a break through in bonding the forum members together. I am sure that everyone has wondered about the folks you communicate with.

I have been a home builder for the past 12 years after a 35 year tour of corporate America, now retired but not by choice. Hobbies, such as cars and motorcycles and local political and volunteer work. Two hundred mile motorcycle ride with some of the local scooter trash tomorrow.

See the latest volunteer effort here: http://gilmerkidskottage.org/aboutus.htm

Donations graciously accepted.

Can you add a separate option for engineer? I've seen a couple of other threads indicating there's a lot of us and I'd imagine we'd get split between a couple of the categories.

shane, just vote 'professional' and you'll be in the right spot. I think that there are several engineers who own jags, there has to be a commonality there...somewhere.

Me, engineer also - civil

Talking Occupation

You must be the only one ... I'm a soon-to-be retired IT geek and soon-to-be caretaker of a privately owned collection of classic/exotic cars (I like that Doug).

I used to work at Independant Import repair shops in the DFW Texas area, VW Dealer in the 1980s and the local Jaguar Dealer until 2006. I have a shop on my property and still do European car repair.

Unfortunately, its only possible to have 10 options for a poll and I cant edit them once it has been created.

Default Great idea for the curious among us.

burmaz: Great idea! I've often wondered what everyone does for a living. I retired from the US Coast Guard with 3 years of Reserve time followed by 27 years of Active service. Lived all over, moving every 1 to 5 years. Currently work for American Bureau of Shipping as a Surveyor, perfect second career choice, with past Coast Guard experience. Have always done my own vehicle maintenance, had Machinery Tech background in CG. The Jag has tested me at times though.

In old language I'm a draughtsman, however we are now refered to as CAD operators.
I have worked freelance for over 30 years in the Building and Engineering fields and despite nearing retirement age, I am having to much fun to quit and hang up my mouse.
