2001 XJ8 with 78k miles on it:
-Engine swap, since the original engine threw a rod (previous owner didn't bother with oil level check); converted AJ26 to AJ27 with all the new gaskets, tensioners, valve job, new thermostat housing and water pump, new coolant hoses, new sparks, new mounts.
-Front suspension rebuild (lower control arms, upper ball joints, all suspension bushings, upper and lower subframe bushings)
-ABS module rebuild (dissassembled and re-soldered)
-Speakers swap
-Line-in mod for the stereo
-New set of tires (2 sets actually. 1 for winter and 1 for other seasons )
-Bulbs change in headlights (they were old, huh), in A/C C/P, in instrument cluster

Since i was a Jaguar LandRover Russia technical trainer there were no problems with repairs at all and i've got a huge discount on parts
Most of this were done within 1 month when i've bought the car. Now it runs like a charm
Now i'm looking forward to some visual changes (XJR grille, chrome deletion and so on)

I've owned my 2000 XJ8 for about 4 years and I've spent an absolute fortune keeping it on the road. Here's the list.

1. One ABS sensor.
2. One gear selector cable.
3. Oil and filters.
4. Fuel.
5. Sponges and polish.

As you can see it's an absolute money pit, I don't know why I bought it, I must have been mad.
I've driven 1,800 miles in the past four weeks visiting my mother who was in hospital and I only averaged 27.1 mpg.
What more can I say ?

I want to go R-style, but the shipping of the needed part is way too expensive and there's no such a parts on a local junk-yards...

See my signature, plus I installed the new style "R" badges all the way around and a custom burled wood "supercharged" shift knob.

By far the coolest mod was the electric exhaust cut outs, WOW!

I gotta get a video of the exhaust up soon.

I have done a few things to my car cosmetically. Not a whole lot since I want to keep the changes subtle. I have pictures in my profile. I have since added a lower mesh grill, but I don't have any pictures of it up yet.

So far:

K&N Drop in filter

Maxbore 82.5mm TB and I port matched and polished the elbow myself to 83mm

ported and polished intake manifolds

Snow Stage II water/meth injection running dual 175 x 2 = 350 ml/minute injectors

Deleted the resonators

170 thermostat

The car appears to have a tune, but not a good one (too lean without the meth) so this will have to be corrected

I took off the XJR badge and replaced it with a XJ8 badge. This eliminated 90% of the Mustangs challenging me to street race.

All windows except windshield tinted

Red Stuff brake pads

Penta wheels (came with asteroids)

Much more on the way, but this is what is already on the car
