Anyway, I was hearing a horrible grinding noise - front tire area. He told me the rotors were very, very, very (yes, 3 verys) bad and needed replaced, along with brake pads. (Cost $670). I would love to see what a very very very bad rotor looks like? Does anyone have a pic they can share?
And are the rotors on the 2004 XJ8 slotted/drilled?

Thanks ahead,

That sounds like a lot of money to me, but knowing what brakes you have would help, can you post a pic?

On a XJ8 I would not of thought they would be Brembo but that is definitely a Brembo price, normal rotors and pads should not be more than $150 in parts and no more than 2hrs labour to do both sides and that is being generous

Indeed very valid point, I skipped over that and it didn't even sink in lol it is 6am for me lol

That may change things a little, and I can not comment as I rarely work on them so ignore my above post

Thank you SuperSport! Tha is one very very very ugly rotor! I pick up my little Jag baby today. I've asked the mechanic to let me see the old rotors. I want to see if I can post an extra 'ugly' of mine.

Wow, thanks for the link. I see rotors for my car can range in price from $30 to $100, so at $670 to replace both up front - I may have paid too much...

I spent $800 with lifetime warranty. Already replaced front rotors at no cost. Warranty is only a good as the shop. Tire Kingdom has treated me right, but they are not the cheapest up front.
