Default What's the best way to drop the rear axle assembly?

I'd like o take apart the rear differential and it seems like dropping the whole assembly would be the best way. Please advise.

drop all the bolts!

Seriously though, the only issue will be the big A frame bushes that attach to the chassis, they become part of the car, seen plenty oxi torched off...buy new ones.

Jack the stub either side to take tension while you unbolt the upper shock brackets, or lower shock bolts.

Support the hubs, drop the bolts on the prop and A frame and remove the A frame from the axle, the diff etc will want to tip forward, I use a jack to lower it and remove from under the car.

Don't forget the over-axle pipes. Two ways, 1.take apart the exhaust in pieces, or 2. undo the ten mil bolts that hold the rubber mounts in.
