What's a reasonable offer for wheels?
I have an opportunity to buy a set of wheels and tires from a guy who already sold the car with the stock wheels. He intended to sell them separately, but stuck them in his warehouse and life took over. Now they're just something else that takes up room and won't get used. Jaguar Cromodoro 10 spoke (5 pairs) with Falken Z rated tires. Problem is, all 4 wheels have curb rash, and the tires don't match. 1 pair of this, 1 pair of that. they look similar as to sidewalls, and the tread is similar, but not identical. Good tread, but definitely used. I would plan to use up the tires and then have the wheels refurbished (no idea how much that costs, but I assume these would be worth the cost) Size is 255/35 ZR20. Does 10% of original retail sound like a reasonable ballpark? Say, $200? Thoughts? Opinions?
I should say anything between 50-100 USD per rim, as long as u are sure it is only road rash and no structural damage.
But are you sure they are 5x120.65 suitable for a X308?
Later models changed the bolt pattern.

Those wheels are not jogging my memory as ever being fitted on a pre 2003 Jaguar? What car did they come from? Are they the later chromed wheels?
I use Wheel Collision Center. Go on the website and find the wheels -- that will give you an idea of the full retail cost of a perfect wheel. They can also give you an idea on fixing them.
The old tires are basically worthless if past 5 years -- damaged chrome wheels cost a fortune to fix. I had my asteroid wheels done last year .. they cost in the 150-200 range to true up and fix very minor damage -- repaint. Shipping is an issue and can be costly.

I thought I would get a price in mind before I tried them on to see if I like them enough, but your response suggested I check the bolt pattern, and they do seem to be slightly different. Must be from a 2003 or later. Now why would Jaguar go and do that? Sorry, a philosophical rat hole with no good answer, like why did the ZF 25 transmission debacle ever happen?

Yeah Pete, that's this forum, we think for you
.
Seriously, the x308 was the last model with the 4.75" (120.65) pattern, but it also means that rims from previous models XJ's, as well as XK's are mostly a direct fit.
If you are really looking for new rims, just keep an eye on this forum's classifieds and eBay.
There are also several companies refurblishing rims, here is just one of them:
2000-2004 Jaguar XK8 18 59713 - All Factory Wheels
Be careful though, a lot of tech info on these websites is not correct.
