Question Car headliner, suede or regular. Pros or Cons

Hi guys,
Does anyone here have the suede headliner? As a no cost option, is it better than having the regular standard headliner? Any pluses any minuses about either car head liner? I still have the ability to switch the headliner if I wish to do so. I'm thinking the suede headliner will make the interior more luxurious , yes ?
Your thoughts & opinions please. Thank you.

I have Alcantara (synthetic suede) in my Aston Martin. Yes Definitely get it, don't even think twice about it.

A no cost option? I don't think that's true.

Exclamation yes-cost option

Yes, I got the Suede/Alcantara Option headliner and payed for it gladly, as I think it really upgrades the interior to the luxury level it's supposed to have... leather is too cold I thought.

The only way I could've got the headliner at "no-cost" is in the all leather/suede interior package, but I didn't like the resulting black/grey color seat combination so I wen't with brogue and suede :-)

Cheers
Lyndon

I have a suede (synthetic) headliner in my XF. It makes it much more luxurious, and now that I've had it I can't imagine anything else. Personally, I think it is well worth it.

I'm in such the opposite camp on this. I have never once looked up and thought, boy I wish that were made of something else.

+1. I had to buy the performance seats to get the camel interior, and had to get the "extended leather upper" to get the performance seats. (several thousands just for the camel color), and to this day can't describe what the roof liner looks like. Couldn't even confirm whether it's leather.

1. Alcantara - when new - feels nice. But who spends time looking at or stroking a headliner?

2. If you must have Alcantara on your steering wheel - use Baby Wipes to clean it. They give surprisingly good results.

Also... If you haven't looked closely, the leather headliner in the couple looks great. It's tight, easy to clean, and the seams line around the upper console continue the look of the dashboard seams nicely.

Default Yes, I would not do seats in suede but ...

It's the headliner and it will be untouched or worn down like seats. That being said, good or bad idea for suede headliner. If it cost me money I would not do it, if if were not for free. See the pic as its a no charge option to change headliner to suede. Thank you.

Just do it, don't listen to all the Nay Sayers on here. Good idea, better looking, better resale.

I think the website may be wrong. Suede interior pack should be $1000 for the R. It's $2500 for the S because it builds in the upgrade to performance seats. If you want to know without a doubt, you need to build your order at the dealer, in the actual ordering system. Jag's website is full of pricing and option availability errors and always has been.

My STi had alcantara seats I owned the car for seven years, they looked just as good at the jag dealer when i traded the car in as the day I got it brand new.

Default No suede seats ....

The seats are black leather with red color stitching. So I'm not sure if suede pack will apply to me as I'm only doing suede headliner. I'll ask the dealership .

Difficult to know if its 'free' or not. The website configurator shows suede headliner as a no cost option on even the base (non premium) F-type coupe that otherwise has almost no options. Certainly could be an error in the configurator though.

If it is actually a no cost option, I'd go for it.

I've had numerous difficulties with my leather headliner that has insufficient over lap with the weather stripping. Looked at other 2015s and they were the same or worse. After 6 tries, they've installed a stiffener along the edge to try and remedy this issue of the headliner coming untucked at high speeds with the windows down. Mind you they outsource this work and the car always came back with other issues IE scratched trim, scratched rims, dirty interior etc.

I think that's enough for a conviction. There's no chance it's a free upgrade, even on an R.
