Why can't these sponsors buy ads around the borders like other folks? Having these things inserted into the string of threads is very obnoxious. Who decided to accept this, anyway? I for one am not impressed or amused.

The stationary ads around the sides of the forum are fine. What I am objecting to are messages which are now popping up as phoney threads. Right after the stickies, but before any "real" threads.

 

They are what they are Boomer, and we have no control over them.
These are agreed between IB and the vendor, obviously for a fee. This fee that is paid means that you and I and everyone else here can use this site for free!
