Default Where are people getting lug nuts from in 2025?

I looked up the old threads on lug nuts and I'm not having luck with the Toyota lug nuts others said worked. Maybe I got the wrong ones?
Any current links?

2000 XJR with asteroid wheels. I want to replace all 20 lug nuts. Only options I find are OE on jag bits for $20 each or Welsh for $10 each. Still crazy expensive. For that cost, I'll just stick with what I have and wait till they're completely done. Hell, my old ones are probably worth a lot since they seem to be a rare precious metal. I'm just not a fan of spending that much, especially not on a poor design. The caps on them rattle around like maracas

Thanks for that. Unfortunately, sng doesn't have the correct info on the lug nuts for my car. They are absolutely not the ones they have pictured. I did find the correct part number CCC7028 on jag bits, but a search on that part number comes up with a bunch of sites that don't have anything available other than the ones I mentioned. That's why I'm hoping someone here has some secret to finding a compatible alternative that's still available.

I'm also aware that the thread is 1/2“ - 20, it's the rest that I'm having a hard time finding a match

Gorilla 73187SMB is a decent stand-in for CCC7028. The across-flats dimension is smaller, and the washers are not captive.

Awesome, thank you for that! Yes, I notice the closest options are 21mm socket instead of 22mm. Not a big deal. The non captive washer would be annoying but also not a big deal. I might try those.

Thanks again.

I have no details or personal confirmation but seem to recall - maybe from a Series lll discussion? - that there was a Toyota lug nut that fit the Jaguar lugs and wheels?

Yes, I saw Toyota lugs mentioned. I tried a set but they didn't fit. The old links I found are not working or no longer listed products. I'm hoping someone has current links to the Toyota lugs that do fit.

toyota lugs are for s-type and later. 308s do not have metric thread nuts they’re 1/2-20 mag seat

22.5 socket and forget about it

Tried a set of 1/2-20 mag seat lug nuts which didn't fit. The threads were perfect, but the outer diameter of the threads were slightly too big.

Tons on Ebay and yes be sure and check the size and style to get the right ones.
Here is a quick search and it returned over 150 auctions. So there are a lot of them out there.
Solid Lug Nuts

Your wise to junk the crap Jaguar OEM ones and I have always swapped them out as one of the first things I did to my car.

Do you have an exact set to link? None of the ones in that search linked above or searches I've done on ebay are giving me results that will fit. I'm also more hesitant to order a set off ebay unless I know 100% it will work since ebay returns are not as simple and and costly, unlike Amazon.

Ok, thanks to the feedback here and thank you 944play for the exact gorilla lug part number. I was about to order a set of the gorilla, but found the ones linked below on ebay and took a slight chance. I measured and remeasured every single aspect of the OE lug and the depth between the wheel and the rotor. I compared the specs to the gorilla and these seems to match the spec of the gorilla lugs, they should work and they look closer to the OE ones. They are 0.05" longer than the gorilla, but there is still room for that plus the washer will take up some of that shaft length. I will report back if they do or don't work out.

welshent.com is where I got mine. Don't recall the part number as it was a few years ago, but I recommend calling to order them.

Thanks, I already checked Welsh. They have them for $10 each. I rather not pay that much for a poorly designed lug nut. The caps on the OE rattle. I already ordered a solid piece set. I will update you all on how they work out.

Ok, so the ebay set fit perfect and look great. The only issue I had is I received one washer less than needed. Also, the finish may not hold up long term. The finish on one of the lug nuts was already coming off by hand. It still looked good despite that, but I don't know how that will last. I contacted the seller to request the missing washer and a spare lug to replace the one with the damaged finish.

Link below in case anyone is interested.

Update, I sent a message out to the ebay seller lug nut guys and did not get a response. However, if you go to lugnutguys.com and dial their support number, Jeff was extremely helpful. I just mentioned my ebay order and issue. Jeff sent a lug and washer in the mail no questions asked. He only needed the name on the order to confirm the address and correct parts to send.

I have never had any issues with the stock lugs, however the Duchess
does not require new tires often.

I'm glad your OE ones are good. The caps on them don't rattle?

Had my tires rebalanced due to a vibration at 70+ on my new to me xjr. The tire shop told me it would be a good idea to get new lug nuts. I'm glad I did. One OE lug nut was missing a washer so not sure that one was even torqued properly. The others were OK, but most if not all of the caps were loose and rattling. Not something I want to hear on my car. These new lugs look nearly identical to OE except they're solid and the washers are not captive. I personally don't like the design of OE lug nuts. I get that the caps are there for esthetics, but what it does for looks, isn't worth it in my opinion. Once the esthetic caps start to rattle, they're junk. The caps can also start to bulge making it harder to get the socket on/off. Not to mention the cap was actually hiding the fact that I was missing a washer. Had there been no cap, it would be plain as day to see and correct.

If you rip the sheaths off the factory nuts, they become open-ended.

This makes them work well for Jaguar wheels with big center caps, such as the depicted 'Solar.' Bonus, the socket size ends up being the same as the Gorilla items I pictured earlier in the thread.
