Default whoops i did it again

after getting my 2000 xj8-long(liquid silver) in nov....a car about as close to mint one can get....i .....came upon another 2000xj8..same color and interior...with 115,000 miles on it....had engine and trans checked out and got it for 4k....this one even has heated seats which my "long" doesn't even have...more like a "2"-no dents dings/...interior front seats need to be re-done/painted.(but no rips/tears in leather)...and need to do detail prep...

now i got 3....85xj6, and the two....2000s......personally i think the 98-2002 xj8s hit the sweet spot as re classic look and overall performance...........and happy hollidays to all....

From what I read once in here all these cars are wired for seat heaters. The heaters are already in the seats just change the face plate and plug them in. Fuses are on the block already too.

That would be me!

I just (a month or so ago) fitted my VDP with the heated seats. ALL you need is a climate control pannel off of the junkyard with seat heating buttons (about 50 bucks in SoCal). Once you replace that, your seats WILL heat up! Amazing huh?

You should try the heated seats in my Bentley-they have 2 power settings:

1) Normal heat for English guys

2) Extra hot for naughty German girls

yes thanks to all re the heated seats....the button/switch is blank on my long,....the shorter version.....has the button on it already with the face of which has the seat with the heat wave going through it....

so i need to remove that button....and replace....with the other....already wired and fused....but not clear on what part needed from junk yard...re climate control switch...any clarification here would be helpful

You need to swap the complete climate control panel. The one that has the seat icons on the buttons goes COMPLETE into the one that doesn't have them. All the seats are wired for heat already. Climate control panel is all you need.

when you say i need to replace whole cc panel....does that include temperature screen/window.......how big a part is this?.......i already put my cat away for the winter.......and will tackle in the spring........excuse me for being so dense on this but....i don't want to remove anything unless i know exactly what i am doing....thanks again for the help....happy new year....
