Why does steering wheel jerk sharply over small bumps?
I know I need an alignment because 1) The steering wheel doesn't self-center very well after turns, and 2) The car's pulling to the right.
But when I drive over bumps, the steering wheel jerks and turns sharply (not enough to affect the tires), but just like an inch or 2, I estimate.
Does anyone know why this is happening and the fix?
Also, I read that replacing the sway bar bushings/linkage helps front end suspension noticeably.
Thank you!

have you got symmetric or asymmetric treaded tires on the front? Reason being they're fussy about symmetric.
Just get the alignment done, and replace sway/linkage before this, like I said, it'll transform the car and really isn't a big or expensive job..let us know how it feels after
