Default Wider rear tires on '02 XJR?

I really like the Astriod wheels on my car, but would like to use wider rubber on the rear, and also push the wheels slightly outboard. It looks like 275/40-18 rubber would fit..The diameter is just very slightly larger than the 245/45 currently on the car. The minimum rim size for that tire size is 9 inches. So, I'm thinking about having the rear wheels widened 1 inch by a well know wheel shop, and then adding a spacer to move the wheels outboard about 1/2". That would fill out the wheel well nicely and also distribute the wider width evenly on the bearing/hub carrier. Has anyone done this? Comments"? (No, I don't want to switch to a different wheel).

Why not just find some XKR wheels. I think they already use 9 rear and 8 front wheels.

I don't believe the Asteroid wheel came in 9 inch. The ones I've seen on XK8s are 8inch front and rear.

I stated XKR (NOT XK8)

Apollo
9JX19" for rear
8JX19" for front

Impeller
9JX18" for rear
8Jx18" for front

Many choices.

I think our wires are crossed. As I said in my original post, I don't want to change to a different wheel from the Asteroid (which was only offered on the XJs and XK8 from what I can discern). Anyway, I found a couple of wheel modifiers (one local in Dallas) that seem to have a decent reputation.
