Default Windshield washer pump, how to test

I took the windshield wiper pump out. Now I need to know how to test it. It has three electrical connectors and I would like to know which is hot. I hear it running in the car, but I can't tell if it actually works. Any info appreciated.

Put a meter on the connector that feeds it and hit the switch. If you see voltage the pump might be bad. On my 06 STR my windshield washer stopped working but I could hear the pump running when I was connected and i hit the switch. Soooooo if you put a meter on the connector and see voltage it’s most likely the pump motor. if you see no voltage your pump might be good. in my case there was a little filter strainer that’s inside the tank to protect the pump /motor and it was completely clogged with gook. Cleaned it and put it back together

as above, if you hear the pump run you need to check the outlet side and at the wiper.

mine was clogged on the check valve at the wiper cowl, cleared it using a paperclip. also a good idea to flush the tank after.

YES! Almost for that part! Get some heavy duty engine degreaser and a set of bore brushes and clean out the reservoir, MIne had an oily gunk stuck to the walls and it would have reclogged the pump screen in short order.

My 06 STR didnt appear to have a check valve at the wiper cowl. Just a hose conneector on the right side behine the hood hing and a TEE on the left side under the cowl and then t2 90 deg fitting for the lines coming thru the cowl.

Where was the check valve?
