I have 2000 XJ8.
The wipers stopped working yesterday. The fuse is good, but I replaced it anyway, as well as replacing the 2 relays up front behind the drivers side headlight. The wipers still do not work.
I want to test the motor. There are 4 wires on the motor connector, red, white, Light brown? ( could be a faded yellow), and green. Does anyone know the pin outs for these wires? Which wire is hot, (I'm assuming red), etc.
I want to run it direct to the battery and ground it, to see if it works.
How do I do this? Hot wire to the battery, and ground the motor?
I called a jaguar dealer, who told me they would not give me that information, it wasn't public info. I had to pay for a diagnostic. LOL
I can't find info on this anywhere. Any help is appreciated!!

 

Mine failed yesterday too. 1999 XJR. I haven't looked at it yet but please let us know which dealer it was who refused to help you so we can avoid buying cars from them.
