I am trying to follow the JTIS procedure (76.49.08) to remove the carpets to the front of the vehical. The seats are out no prob but I am a bit wary of the gear selector/centre console removal (76.47.26).
The procedure goes on about putting the car in 'N'eutral and returning the key to 'O'ff position. However the even though the warning beep stops after a few seconds you can't get the key back to the 'O' pos and remove it. Some kind of safety interlock.
Why does it need to be in 'N' ??
Also why do the bushes from the retaining plate need to be discarded ? Perhaps this will become obviouse when I I do it ?
