OP. I did not have to take anything apart, other than removing the wheel to run the wiring to the left side repeater. I did use Posi Taps, which I use all the time on my other vehicles, and I have many other show cars / projects, and these have never failed me.

Posi-Tap- No Crimp Tap

Posi-Locks and Posi-Tight are really nice as well. The Posi-Tight are waterproof versions of the Posi-Locks.

Posi-Tite- Watertite Connector

Beside you the last post on this thread was over 1 year ago and the last time the op posted on this forum was almost 6 months ago

 

If questions are asked on this forum, we are always very glad to refer to the 'search' function, which, if used properly, is a great start to obtain info on almost any model-specific question you might have.

However, there is nothing more bothering then to get into those threads, then being annoyed by totally off-topic discussions.
I guess a simple question is fine, but as Platinum XJR said, staying on-topic makes sense for anyone coming back to this thread later.

Can I ask a clarifying question please?
In the UK the amber lenses on the side of the front and rear bumper (fender) are reflectors and do not light or flash. Does the USA imported model have these working as lights or is this what the modification thread is about?

 

The US version has the 5W lighting as standard, amber front and red rear.
They do not flash.
You can try to buy a full set with bulbs and turn-fitting, or I also saw some people who drilled a hole and inserted a rubber 5W gommet.
Seems the EU reflector has the housing sans the hole.
Not sure on the wiring though, but guess splicing should be easy.

 

I saw a 2002ish "XJ Sport" yesterday. It was not an XJR. It had the smokey clear side turn signal repeaters. But unlike those discussed on this thread, it had a small chrome surround to the lens and the lens was flatish and did not protrude.

Has anyone seen this? Is there a source?
