Default X308 spark plug recommendations

Hey guys, looking for some help in selecting new spark plugs for my 03' XJ8. Bosch, NGK ???

Just ordered per my local Jag dealershipNGK
Spark Plug IFR5N10 NGK; Iridium Spark Plug
For models with production year from 1999. For models with chassis serial number from 853936.















Note: Iridium Spark Plug

HI. NickNack,
Why did you pick those particular Spark Plugs and are you happy with theor performance. I need to change mine in my 2003 VDP and need your input. Thanks.

That is what my dealer recommended and come to find out that was what it had. So far so good, couldn't bring myself to torque them to the recommended 25 nm, so I just a little over hand tight, the torque wrench never clicked off. so I know I didn't over tighten.

i put the latest plugs from the XF .. so far so good.

Make sure you use an anti-seize compound when installing the plugs. 25nm is not a problem. Obviously you don't want to strip the aluminum threads, but on the other hand a spark plug coming loose is not a good thing either.

good point!!! No Copaslip....I hava always used regular engine oil on the threads and of course...NEVER overtighten.

Just changed out my plugs, bought NGK Stock No. 5464 iridium plugs.

My old existing plugs were also NGK Iridiums.

I've yet to hear a bad thing about Iridiums. That's what we've always ran in the Bimmers as well....
