Can some one tell me if the starter motor for this model is either Hitachi or Nippon Denso?
I suspect I have a starter motor rebuild coming up as starting is becoming a bit of a
hit and miss lately and i don't rellish the thought of being stranded out on the road somewhere.
I want to order some replacement parts but need to know the brand and model.
I have read several removal reports which all seem to vary but would like to remove the starter
without disturbing the steering rack if at all possible.
Any tips will be greatly appreciated.
My car has covered 215,000klm in my 13 year ownership.

 

You can search for starter motor on Ebay and you will probably see the label on some pictures showing the name of the manufacturer.

It turns out the starter motor is made by Nippon Denso
Model No. 228-000 5092-5093
