Default X308 XJR DIY build

Good afternoon everyone.
I have bought a X308 XJR just over a year ago am I though I would create a thread for some of the bits I have done to the car and how it’s looking currently. Hopefully you lot like what you see. More to come to make this a really nice example hopefully.

This is how I bought the car. Barely fitted on the trailer. But I was one happy customer!

First outing after the initial faults were fixed. Caffeine and Machine which is a car bar/cafe.

The standard exhaust was far too quiet so I made a start on some rear silencer deletes with a 4” tail pipe finisher

Here is the finished example of the rear silencer delete.

The view of the new tail pipes on the car.

Some fresh disks and pads EBC red for a bit of extra bite.

Some rotiform wheels and a little lowering to get the stance where I wanted it.

Wanted a little more supercharger noise, so made a start on the aluminium intake.

Here is the finished and fitted part. A slight increase in supercharger noise, better throttle response and better pickup at the top of the RPM range. Overall very happy with it. Looking forward to hearing it with an uprated supercharger pulley.

The car was still too quiet for my liking, even with the rear silencers deleted plus the original part was starting to fall apart. So I set about making an X-Pipe resonator delete.

Here it is fitted to the vehicle. In my opinion it sounds much nicer. Still not overly loud but closer to that of modern performance vehicles. Think AMG Mercedes or modern Range Rover sport.

Managed to source a set of original roof bars and Jaguar roof rack ready for a ski trip to Val Thorens

Ok, I have to have some fun with this...did you paint the door to the residence to match the car or buy the car to match the door?
Nice welding btw, ...clean work.

Nice. Was the parts store out of 6” tailpipe finishers?

clean work. not to my taste maybe on the exhaust tips and loud exhaust, but you do a nice job. Particularly that intake tubing. Is that a 3.5"? Any hood clearance issues?

Thank you for all the kind words guys!
It is a 3" intake, had to make it oval at the throttle body end so that it does not catch the bonnet. I have since redesigned the future intakes to get it lower and further away from the bonnet.
The next X pipe I make will have some small resonators in it to remove the slight drone you get with a resonator delete at 1800-2000rpm. I have invested in some slip rolls so will be able to make the resonators fit with the rest of the system.

If you want more rumble without the drone and not obnoxiously loud you put the X pipe where the large single front muffler is, straight pipe the two center mufflers and leave the factory rearmost mufflers alone.

yeah the mods took it out. Apparently you need to be a sponsor for links of commercial nature. You live and learn.

@PandaSpeedShop, very nice quality work thus far.

Are the modifications going to be an issue with MoT?

You don't need to be a site sponsor to post it in The Marketplace.

thank you. Should be fine for the MOT as the emissions systems remain untouched and the sound is within acceptable performance car levels. I didn’t have any issues, hopefully this continues.
