Default X308 XJR rear left hub carrier question

Hi
I want to buy a Jaguar XJR made in September 2000 having 165,000 km.
From discussions with the owner told me the only problem on the car is that the rear left hub carrier installed now on the car is from an XJ6 (x300).
Currently the traction control and ABS is not function.
Question: Do you know if the hub carriers are similar on X300 and X308?
It seems now the ABS sensor does not read the correct speed as the other three sensors. It is possible that the sensor to not be too deep inside and can’t read the rotation of the wheel or the mechanical system inside the hub carrier has a different shape and size and the sensor is not reading the rotation correctly.
I would like to know all this information before buying the car; I want to know what I must change after I will purchase the car.
The owner says that the parts are not the same and this is the reason why the ABS does not work at this time.
Best regards
Gabriel

Is the car is showing "Restricted Performance" as a warning in the instrument cluster?

IIRC the ABS sensor fixing is different between XJ40, X300 and X308 hub carriers. But the hub carriers themselfs are pretty much the same.
With some machining work (some drilling) i guess that it's possible to convert X300 hub carrier to X308 hub carrier.

Near as I can tell the X300 and X308 (except X308/XJR) use the same hub carrier, MJA3290AA and MJA3291AA

The X308/XJR uses MXD3290AA and MXD3291AA

What makes the XJR version unique? I dunno. Hopefully someone will chime in.

Cheers
DD

Thanks
The owner has also the old hub carrier, if i will by the car i will take also the old one and try to fix this issue. The price of the car is good and it is tempting.
At the moment i have an E32 735IA but my first love is Jaguar and spacial XJR so this car will be an upgrade for me.
Best regards
Gabriel

Had to look

The listing says "R performance options" and not SC. That suggest the "R" package which has the Brembo brakes.

The hub carriers are the same on X300 and X308 (exception for the R version where a different caliper is fitted), also the sensor rotor (the one sending the impulses to the ABS sensor. The wheel sensor is different, depending of the VIN of the donor car. The X300's pre 801671 cars have a LNA2223AB and all the cars after, both X300 and X308 have LJA2226AA.
What is wrong with the old hub carrier? if it's the bearings they can be changed easy or you can try to use the original sensor (if the diameter is the same).
I can help you with my tester, depends where the car is located.

Default ABS sensor position

Today i fix the problem with my ABS sensor on the rear left side hub carrier. As i said the owner change the rear hub carrier with an X300. On X300 the sensor position it is at the 90 degrees comparing to X308 hub carrier and for the moment i made from steel a L shape device to fix the sensor in the original position. Now I have to option: to buy another hub carrier or to make another hole in the existing hub and put another screw to fix the sensor.
Best regards
