The car has been running okay, but three weeks ago whilst driving it suddenly went dead, no response at all, car coasted to a stop and would not start again. But on the dash it showed the oil can and battery, which has never showed up before, these lights do not go off. Also the check engine light has been on for the past few months and we believe this is probably the oxygen senser? Battery is in good shape and oil level was good .

Another issue which may not be related to this is usually when the car starts out from cold we get a noise from one of the rear wheels as if your running over a rough asphalt road, a rumbling sound that last for a say a quarter of a mile and then disappears. We like the car but these issues are becoming a real problem.

The only way to determine why the CEL is ON is to have the codes read. Without that it is all speculation and guesswork.
