Jaguar xj8 98 3,2 Trip computer - fuel usage, mpg, average mph etc - can't toggle through this info using end of indicator stalk switch. Could it just simply be the stalk switch is faulty or is this a more commonly known fault elsewhere in the jag's electronics?
If I push this Trip button, nothing happen! Could anybody know, what is wrong? Fuse somewhere else?????

I haven't opened the column to take a look yet (not sure when I'll have time) but if you get a chance to look in your column I'd be curious if your problem is the same as the link above...

 

How do you extracted that the indicator lever loose?

 

There are many threads labeled AIRBAG, STEERING WHEEL REMOVAL, CLOCKSPRING, MULTIFUNCTION SWITCH. Read most of them for step-by-step instruction on removing parts to get to the multifunction switch: many include color photos and some link to YouTube videos; once the steering wheel is off, the airbag is removed, it will allow you to identify which wire is broken in the multifunction switch. The wiring diagram available in the stickies, will show you which wire (wires) and what solder point you need to re-solder.

OR, using eBay or Amazon, buy a new switch and have it installed.
