Xj8 auxiliary water pump
Looking to replace/fix the heater water pump (2000 xj8 base).
Part # mnc6710ac (?)
Can anyone confirm if this is also Bosch 039202002, or what the Bosch (or any) equivalent would be?
Thanks, Lowell

Are you sure the pump is broken? Just asking as while a common problem on these cars, clogged heather core is another. I also thought my aux pump was dead and bought another one. To find out the one I had worked just fine and just needed to flush/backflush the heater core. Which is what I need to do every winter (it's just about that time again....). Cheers
What coolant are you guys using?
I don't understand all the cooling system problems ... I can see how it may have happened in the earliest cars that switched coolant .. but by 2001 they were all using the newest products?
It's so important to stick with the correct fluid -- and keep the system filled.
I believe the pump is made by Denso -- that's not to say that others are not selling a rebadged version.

Thanks. Upon further review, I'm going to leave well enuf alone.
Had suspicions about the aux pump for a while. Did a clean/flush/new (then a tstat, then water pump, and 1 new bleed tube), and it seems to be working ok. Not true winter yet, so we'll see then.
Now, about the door handle....
Thanks,
Lowell

Hello, I know this is an old thread but any help will be greatly appreciated. After inspection, I have discovered that I have a bad auxiliary water pump. Is there anything preventing me from reinstalling any generic water pump, or does it have to be the OEM part? (would rather not spend 500 haha)

The early X308s had the old brand ( X300 version ) of electric pump that takes a 33A size 2 brushes
.15" x .15" x .35" BRUSH 33A
I think there is a way to remove without disturbing the fluid lines
Later they went to Bosch and some go ahead with a whole new Bosch
There is a fuse and relay involved , with the heat on the pump will run at all times
The heater fluid flow valve / solenoid will modulate to hold set cabin temp
For the Busch pump the motor brushes are # X , help needed
You can tap on the brush area and jar them loose for a bit more run time , this would prove good fuse and relay but brushes on their way out
This is a link and pics for a X300 with same heater system as the X308 with early electric pump
