XJ8 Blue Smoke on Start Up
Hi all.
On starting my jag from cold, I get a very small amount of Blue Smoke that quickly dissapears (within less than 10 seconds), I'm sat here thinking the worst, but I would be most grateful for anyones advice..
Possible valve stem seals? ideas on cost??
Thanks!

My 1993 XJS 4.0 had the same puff of smoke on startup I replaced the engine oil to 10w 40w and all was good. If your car seems to use oil try the 10w 40w oil as suggested by keep in mind that a little oil loss between oil change is not a problem. I do not know what is acceptable but today my 99 XK8 & 2000 S-Type use about a quart in4000mi. I change the oil every 5000mi. As an option you could add Restore oil additive every other oil change. Some people call it snake oil I say it works well. It had been recommended by others on this forum I used it in my Rav4 that hat 266,000mi and it worked well.
