Hey folks-

I have a 2004 XJ8 and was wondering what type of coolant it takes, I hear it has to be from an orange topped bottle? Any help would be geratly appreciated....thanks in advance....Cheers!

no prob, I noticed that when I had to fill it a week ago. Then it was just finding what matched those numbers. I ended up getting something that worked at autozone.

 

The system takes DexCool that meets Ford spec WSS-M97B44-D. DoNOT mix anything else in it unless it is fully flushed if you want the 5 year protection of DexCool. Regular Prestone DexCool meets this spec.

 

By the way, if you have drained the system, be sure to remove the bleed plug on the expansion tank before refilling and turn the heater on maxor youmay get an airlock, not good. A drain and refill takes 6 quarts, I just did it today.
