Default XJ8 engine change

Hi guys,I don't need valves now.I think I need a engine.Rebuild that head need $1000.A used engine:jag $2k and ford $1k.Here is my question:May I use Ford one(3.9L)? Any ideas? (This come from "Secondary chain tensioner problem")

You could put a Ferrari engine in, it depends on how much work you want, and how much money you want to spend.

The easiest job is like for like. Same model, same year. I'm not sure about sensor pickups/location, feedback voltages etc on a Ford/Lincoln LS unit. You can try, and post here your developments, that'd be interesting.

There will be all sorts of issues swapping a different engine, even slightly different. Here are a couple posts on the subject and there are more around. The LS engine has been successfully used and posted but I cannot find the link at the moment. Might try a search.
