Where can I buy a xj8 front license plate bracket? My state requires the license plate to be displayed at the front. I don't want to go to a dealer. Any online vendors? I think Jagbits has them but any other vendor?

 

I got mine from Jagbits. Was around 50USD after tax and shipping.

Once I'd got it I was in Pep Boys looking for something else and I saw they had holders for <10USD. I didn't go any further but from the quick look I had I think you could also use these more generic ones as there is hardly any curve in the front fender in the middle.

You could also just mount it directly on the fender and put a frame on the front of the license plate to make it look a bit more substancial

I got pulled over for not having the front license plate, Idaho requires one, but truthfully, I drove an old cadillac without one for years, I just think the cop wanted a closer look at the Jag. He even commented, he "sure loved these things".

I bought an in expensive crome bracket that goes over the top of the plate and mounted it to the front bumper, maybe $10 total. and it looks like it was always there.

 

To each his own, I like the plinth if you have to go that way. They're testy about it here in Ohio.
