XJ8 Transmission Help

Leaking Transmission Fluid from the top, but transmission is not slipping.. What could it be?? and how much?

anybody looking to buy a 1998 xj8 with 122219 miles on it leaky trans only 2000.00. live in ny

That sounds like a valve cover gasket, head gasket or a coolant leak. Could be wrong!

Don't see any way for transmission fluid to be leaking up there... are you SURE it's transmission fluid and not one of the other 3 or 4 possible underhood related fluids? Also, I am unable to see the top, rear of the engine at the bellhousing from anywhere without doing some surgery... where and how are you seing evidence of this leak?

That's where the breather is, never seen one puke from there though. And no, it's not because it is overfilled. Under the rubber mat to protect the cooler hose. Bad cooler hose maybe?
