Question XJ8 & XK8 wanted... rear seat ???

Hey, guys... does anyone have a car seat in their XK8? I'm 5'8", so there should be a lil leg rm and I have to fit 2 booster/car seats. My lil ones are small...

I've been searching for another XJ but my secret desire is an 03' XK8 or XKR coupe or conv if I can find the right coupe. I'm looking for leads for preferably in order of color: white, black, silver, sand... excellent condition, 80k +/- miles or less @ a great price point. If there's no warranty on it I will purchase one... I'll hate to purchase the XJ without at least testing the Xk waters.

Any leads on an 03' - 05' XJ8 or 03' XK8, please let me know! I ***** footed around & lost the last one! And if you can look @ the car that'll be great!

Ikon

after my experience, there is no good option in any of those except for the LWB models...
when my first was born , we had a 2000 xj8 and you could forget about trying to put a rear facing infant seat in there. even the forward facing left me moving the front seats up to where it was uncomfortable and im only 5-9. i had a 96 xjs vert and you could forget about putting either in what they called the "back seat". the xk's in both coupe and vert also leave much to be desired even with the seat all the way forward. it sucks because i really like the xk coupe and was seriously considering one , but it would be just way too much of a hassle to enjoy it with the family. if you are going to venture down this road, just look at a VDP and be done with it, unless you want an xk for your use only....
right now i have a car seat in the back of my 89 saab vert, which has leg room enough for a normal person to sit , but still not the best. with the front seat far up , she still can plant both feet firmly on the seat back.
good luck though... i feel your pain

Yeah... with my XJ8L & STR I had 0 issues with Tue seats... my local Jaguar dealer sucks & NEVER have XK8 in stock to even give it a dry fit to see... a friend's relative has one, I believe. Maybe she will let me stick it in her's... I hope it fits.

thats quite a favor to ask.... but what the hell

now that thats out of the way , yes, i know the history of why jaguar put those seats in the convertibles to get out of the 2 seater insurance rate, but i look at them and it kills me why they couldnt just play with the dimensions of the car a bit more to make it actually usable. i was also looking at a 94 xjs coupe which i always loved, and there was no way to be able to use it either!

good luck on your quest

There's a guy @ a local business(I told him about the site & he's a member) that has a mint white XJS... it's the nicest I've seen in years. It purrs and looks new, he's owned it for 15 years. I see it at least 3 times a month.

Hmmmmm is the rear seat dimension the same as a Xk?
