I wonder if you got the record for bringing up a thread that was 6 years, 3 months, 5 days, 6 hours and 14 minutes old?

Could be worth an inquiry to buy the Guest OP's VDP.

If it's been on stands for the last six years waiting for a set of Asteroids it'll only be lightly used.

If you have a VDP sans supercharger, therefore sans stiff sport suspension, you will not like what that wheel/tire setup will do to your cush suspension. I dislike my setup and it's just like that. I want to get a set of 16" wheels and tires.

Probably a good advice, but I have a strong feeling that the OP isn't following this thread anymore.

not anymore!

Seriously, what do the wheel mavens out there think about the idea of mounting 18x8.0 asteroids on an xjr r1 package car as a way of preserving the harder-to-find BBS wheels?

Would I need a small spacer to add a bit more room for the larger R1 calipers? Do they make half-inch spacers?

I responded to thread from 2012 the other day. LMAO
totally missed the date as it scrolled up from a current thread.

As for the wheel situation I understand the desire to be careful
with the ever increasingly rare BBS special wheels.
my version of " black beast " also has fairly low miles with BBS Montreals so
I just decide to buy another XJR with more miles on it so I feel guiltless
actually driving and enjoying it.
( In sunny weather only of course , LoL)

That solution won't work for me as I already have too many cars and if I were to buy another car, then I I would also need to budget for a good divorce lawyer.

I totally understand. Lol
If you have a keeper then keep her.
unfortunately I didn't so I got rid of her and kept all my toys instead. Lol. Lol.

Not one of my Cars ever called me names or threw my stuff on the lawn after drinking ( her) too much.

Nor have mine, although I do suspect that my XJR has a drinking problem.

As long as it's not drinking AND driving.

Remind it ....8 hours between bottle and throttle.

I suspected my car of drinking too much once...
turned out to be a sloppy tie rod.

well either way your losing half your stuff. 20 yr old jags might be cheaper than the divorce lawyer and look better than the wife at this point.

Not so my friend. Not THIS time..lol

I kept my ALL stuff, my house, our kids, my business, my tiny (really tiny) bit of money and most of my dignity.
In fact Mama even sends ME a small pittance of child support. It's a tiny fractional amount vs what I would pay as the Man if the shoe were on the other foot. But the point that she contributes is satisfaction .
. I kept what I busted my butt for my whole life . She got a moving truck full of Karma and her personal belongings. That's it! Oh yeah, and my Kitchen Aid artisan mixer. Boy I sure miss that mixer. Lmao.

Sure I spent a small fortune on barristers to stay intact but that's an investment in myself and my kids future that's well worth the price. The fact that my attorneys are each driving a new Mercedes and BMW suv respectively doesn't hurt my feelings at all. I would have paid no matter the outcome.

But to give you some satisfaction on your comment.
I lost EVERYTHING once before and that still affects me $$ every month 25 years later
Once bitten........

This was a wheel thread and I've turned it into a divorce thread. My apologies.

you got lucky, well I never got married but unfortunately she did take one thing down with her and that was my headliner. Never should have let her LSD addict f-buddy girlfriend into my car; I guess the headliner looked like a nice place to make some hand impressions.
