XJR-98 suspension feel with CATS?
Hello!
I have this strange behaviour on my xjr, CATS equiped car. Front suspension feels well balanced, with no excessive movment, but rear tend to rock (to soft damping) while at highway speed, let's say 70mph/110km/h on an uneaven road. To try to explain, it feels as an old american car, so quite boncy boncy
__---__.
As I don't have any posibility to try an XJR/CATS with changed rear shocks, I don't really know how it should feel. Thought it be better to see if I can get any feedback on that before ordering new shocks...
No faultcodes from rear suspension (CATS), no leakages visible ither.
Should the differance between car at rest (below 10km/h) engine on (this should set the susp to stiff) and ign off be sensed when pushing on rear corner of car?
Just out of curiosety, I will try to meassure the beahviour of when the accelerometers kick to stiff from soft (think from 3 to 7 volt) by checking output voltage on connector.
Also thinking of making some kind of hard wiring to force car running in stiff all the time just to see what that would feel like.
Cheers!

I understand if you disconnect them, they default to stiffer setting? slightly easier to do on the fronts as it's just pop the bonnet, the rears you'll need to lift up the rear seat to disconnect them.
What's the mileage?
What's the mileage?
It's a late 97, but i guess that makes it a 98
.It's done 123000 miles (ex uk car), and as far as I can tell the dampers looks stock, but you never now do you
.Well, as far as I remember from JTIS, the system sets to stiff if something is wrong ex accelerometer, open circut for dampers..
I could test with disconnecting front and check if rear feels better.
Whats the average lifetime for the dampers acc to your experince?
Cheers
