XJR changed battery and stereo stopped working???
hi everyone,
can anyone tell me why after changing the battery the stereo has stopped working???
where is the fuse for the stereo located?
also does anyone know how to set the memory of the steering wheel and seat to auto position when inserting the key in ignition and taking out of the ignition?
does the memory buttons 1,2 and 3 having to correspond with the individual key fob?
regards

Does the stereo display (what year XJR, please) ENTER CODE, or equivalent? Some Jag stereos require an anti-theft code when they've been deprived of power. You can call your local dealer's service department, give then the last 4 or 6 (don't remember) numbers of your VIN and they will give you the code. The fuse is also a function of year.
The steering wheel memory uses a twist switch on the left side of the column (at least in my 2000) - OFF for manual, AUTO for auto adjust when the key is inserted. In auto, the wheel will return, upon key insertion, to the last postion prior to removing the key. The seat memory is linked to the key fob that you use to open the door - push mem 1, then press a button on the keyfob - you'll hear a ding; that key fob is now associated with mem 1. Same process for mem 2 and 3.
