Default XJR stalling

Hello,
I am evaluating to buy an XJR. It is in overall nice conditions, but it stalls after 1 minute of running idle. So even if you stop at a traffic light.
The mechanic already replaced the crankshaft position sensor, and he has no idea what else the problem could be...
Any hints before I buy a trouble to fix for $5k?
thanks

Rick

Sounds like a vacuum issue, check the duct seals between the supercharger intake and the throttle body. Good chance is if its been sitting awhile they could be dry rotted. There was also an upgrade to the mounts because they would pull out of the clamp.

The brake line vacuum off the bottom passenger side of the throttle body is another spot known to create a vacuum leak. There's a plastic clip that the tube clips into that dries up and cracks.

Should be able to shoot some starter fluid around the area to determine a vacuum leak.

Check the Stickies at the top of the forum as well for other suggestions.

Great ideas above. If none works, watch fuel trims (at idle) before & as it stalls.

The throttle position sensor should be checked with a very very slow sweep

Maybe the coolant temperature sensor?

I have always heard from other fellow members that if working improperly, it can send the wrong info to the ECU, thus miscalculating the richness of the fuel mix.

I guess with an OBD you can see what it is doing, not very difficult to diagnose!
