So I just bought this car.. they said it was an xj6... its from 1988... iots the xxx plus? model?
the brakes dont seem to be power anymore...
and there's all sorts of warning lights... you have to push REALLY hard on the brake pedal.
is there any site with info on these hydraulic systems? or some basic trouble shooting info?
$400.. figured its worth that in crap metal! runs good though! id like to fix the stuff..
anyways any help is appreciated!

The brake lines probably need to be blead. Start in this following order: Right Rear, Left Rrear, Front Right, Front Left.
While you're down there, check for leakage from the calipers. Often, the seals go with age. I am in the process of replacing the rear calipers because my RR has seized. I also need to bleed the brakes because the car pulls to the left upon braking, indicative of potentially air in the lines. Spongy brakes usually means air in the lines. If your problem persists, it could be the master cylinder.
Hope this helps.
