Default 88 xj6 spring removal

I going to be removing the springs on my 88 xj6 . I know I will have to get the spring compression tool , but wondering if any one can give me some knowledge and tips or advice as how to do this without hurting myself ! Any difference in removing the front from the back ? I had the rear converted years ago . Also , I think that they have different styles of spring removal tools . What would the correct one be , if they do . Any help or advice will be appreciated . Thanks .

allykatt 199,

See this post below:

Read the thread entirely and click the link that Don B has to review the spring compressor he made for the front springs. They are different, they have a curve to them, and it is dangerous without the right precautions.

If in doubt about safety or not experienced enough with springs, get professional help. Been doing this for 49 yrs. and still scary sometimes, with the correct tools.
