Ac compressor doesn't turn on help please
OK this is on a 1991 sovereign. I have replaced the compressor and now it will not turn on. I checked at the AC relay on top of engine compartment near the front of the right side of engine. The relay is square with 4 plug ins. I checked the following two: The on facing front of car and the one opposed to it. I was told I should read 12V on bothe and nothing on the two facing the sides. I only read 12V on the one on the front side of engine. ( If the relay were a geographical square and N being the side facing front of car,
i read 12v, on the N point nothing on the other 3). What do I do now???? Thanks

Ok, I ll help you in the way I would aproach it, but I am a mechanic, and you are a DIY, but the info will probably help.
Best of LUCK!!! and visit my blog: www.jaghelp.com it's just starting but i think is coming out pretty good
- A/C doesnt work? look at the compressor cluth if it turns on.
- If it doesn't check for power, ground should be good since the compressor gets its ground by being bolted to the engine.
- No power? check if there is en ough refrigerant in the system. Plug in the r134 gauge, with the compressor off pressure should be about 90psi each. although the right way of checking u have the right amount is suck it aout with a machine and see what's there.
- If there is enough refrigerant, check the relay. Just swap it with a similar one for another system thats not important like fog lamps or something.

The relay??
Thank you for the response.
No clutch does not come on
Yes system is loaded with the R134
Will swap relay next.
for now I need to figure out which vacuum line goes to which solonoid on the left side of the AC evaporator assembly. I have both blue line and the white liine going to one solonoid and none on the other one causing my left side vent flap on top of dash not to close.
Thank
