Default Anyone know where to get headlamps?

I have been trying to find new lamps, I have the "styled" headlamps (aka fishtanks) the problem is that finding replacements is not as easy as I thought that I actually thought it would be.

I need (to pass the yearly MOT) to get the European standard lamps and I really don't want to change over to quad lamp style.

Anyone got any ideas where to find the lamps?

Kay, who is waiting for spring and time to be taking the Kitten out again

I have have good/ to very good luck on eBay- in US of course. Have you checked local wrecking yards? I have gotten them for around $50 online and less at wrecking yards.

Thanks Jerry,

I actually did that first thing... now I have already ordered the quad setup, the fishtanks that are in decent condition are just too expensive right now to me.

I just thought that I can always go back to them later if I find good ones one day, this way I will be able to pass the MOT when I take my Kitten out for the summer

Kay, I ran across an 88 XJ40 today that had the styled euro single reflector headlamps, the type you are looking for AFAIK ...The car was being scrapped so I removed the headlamps - they look to be in good condition, on close examination one has some slight corrosion on the reflector but no yellowing; I would say they are pretty nice overall.

The label says VALEO made in Belgium JLM 10873, I'm pretty sure these are what you need.

Hello Kay,

You haven't got back to me on these headlights so I'm guessing you don't have any need for them?

Nah - they're the wrong type Jerry ..these are old euro style single bulb/single reflector units only fitted to the earliest North American cars - not my cup of tea at all ...

cheers mate
