Default Coolant/heater hose diagram

There's a length of 5/8ths heater hose that.comes from the back of the water pump housing and appears to go towards the back of the engine somewhere, but I'm not sure. I have every other hose figured out.
If someone had a diagram of where all the hoses go, it would be really appreciated!

frenchfairplaydriver,

See David's long-running thread here:

https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/x...l-swap-174644/

David,

For the benefit of those who have not been following your journey, it would be a good idea to add to your signature line the fact that your Jaguar is an 1989 3.6L XJ40 but you are installing a 1994 4.0L engine.

Regarding that 5/8 inch heater hose on the back of the thermostat housing, it's part 5 in the diagram for '93-'94 engines:

The small hose wyes off and connects to the coolant-heated restrictor, part 13. The 5/8 inch section of the hose goes back toward the rear of the engine, where it may connect to one of the heater core pipes on the firewall. If no one else can tell you for certain, I'll try to have a look at our old '93, which I sold to a neighbor.

BTW, on the '93-'94 engines, the heater water control valve mounts directly to the cylinder head under the intake manifold runner for cylinder 6. I don't think that hose connects to the heater valve, but I could be wrong.

Cheers,

Don

My apologies about that, I thought I had updated my signature before, but it's not there now is it.

I have hose #5 connected, on my car There is a standard rubber hose where #9 is, when I took it off the old engine it was parallel with the block, and can't see where the other end goes.

I have both of the hoses for the heater core connected.

I don't recall seeing anything, but perhaps there's a hookup on the underside of the intake? I am going out to the car today so hopefully I can get some pictures.

I switched from the mobile site to the "full site" on my phone's browser, must be a mobile thing.

Anyways, it this hose, the one in the middle between the 2 larger hoses. When I removed it from the old block it was parallel with the block, but it's been so long I don't know where it's supposed to go

Sorry, I missed it due to my own blindness. There is in fact 3 hose connections on the reservoir tank, and this mystery hose is the 3rd
