Default Couple of questions on a 92 Majestic

Hello, i'm new here and have searched around and can't find my answer to 2 questions I have.

1. Car won't start, fouls out plugs as soon as you try to start it. Ignition spark is a weak yellow, I ran a wire from the + on coil to battery and still same weak yellow spark, i'm thinking the coil is bad. Is there anything else I should check before replacing the coil?

2. I notice when I turn the key on all the gauges EXCEPT the speedo and tach stay fully to the right. Is this normal on these cars? Most cars they may sweep to the right but settle in to the left. Mine stay all full to the right.

Thanks for any advice in advance.

I forgot to mention when I turn the key on and press the button to display codes, it shows fuse 1 and fuse 2, not sure if this is even relevant. Thanks again.

Dangit I keep thinking of things,

When cranking the engine the tach goes to about 200 rpm's and from what I can tell off the engine / ecu schematic that means the ignition module and crank position sensor are working....

Welcome. If you haven't, first thing you do is go introduce yourself in the new member section of the forum. Then use the search function to zone in on one issue at a time. If you need further help from there, post it in here. Someone here has either fixed the issues your having, or is about to. So be confident you can get some direction. Follow my suggestions and you should be ok.

Good advice above.

Fuse 1 and Fuse 2 simply denote a fuse problem in both of the front fuse boxes, you need to test all the fuses with a meter to see where the problem lies.,

I think that after checking all the HT leads and the distributor cap and rotor I would throw on a spare coil just to see if it makes a difference. Pull one off a junk car.

Is the car cranking at normal speed ,ie fast. If not check your battery and connections.

Will it fire with starter fluid?

Others will add.

Welp, don't have a parts car to rob a coil from, and after reading the alldata info on the coil it says there should be .5 ohms between positive and negative terminal, and this one was reading .9 so I took a chance and threw a new one on and it fired right up. Runs rough as it seems like it's loading up on fuel but i'll start troubleshooting that next.

After it started up all 4 small gauges just stay full right, pegged out. I will start checking all fuses to try and figure that one out.

Can I call the dealer with the VIN to get the radio code?

Thanks in advance.
