Elec windows

Did the 30amp fuse blow? And then did that occur again when you replaced it? Try taking off the door panaling and making sure all the wires are connected right, maybe something got disconnected. I don't know if you have the hanes booklet, that shows how to take off the paneling...otherwise I'm sure you can find instructions somewhere on the web. I bet Jag Lovers has a page on that

Thanks for the replies fellas.
It is a Jan 94 with the battery in the boot.
On the inside of the fuse cover it states the 30a is fo RH side front and rear elec windows. The fuse I removed wasn't blown and the replacement didn't operate windows either. I have a Haynes manual in the boot but boot link rod has popped off so cannot get into boot until the weekend.
My mate replaced the lock barrel and forgot to check rod before closing boot, Double Whammy!

In-op windows
The faulty wire was one than went to master switch, didn't do repair myself so don't know which one. There is a PCB board inside master switch don't know about passenger side switch. Mine is a 94 XJ40 sport it has a 30a fuse each side which protects the switches in front doors, suggest check them first. There are plenty of switches on e-bay, UK sellers send international if need.
Good luck.
Good luck.
